If you know me at all then you may know just how obsessed with old Hollywood I am, so when our gorgeous friend Amber, of Amber Kay Photography asked us to be a part of an Old Hollywood themed styled shoot we couldn’t say no! Amber is one of our friendors at the Shoppes at the Renaissance and her bubbly personality combined with her photography are just a few of the many things we love about her.
Jane, Janelle, and I tackled the hair for the four models while our good friend Kara Waggoner was in charge of makeup. The bold looks that Kara created combined with the curls and swopped hairstyles that us glammies crafted made for the perfect old Hollywood look. I am waiting (very impatiently may I add) for the final photos from the shoot and have been dying over the teasers that Amber has been posting! So to distract us from the wait I wanted to share a few behind the scenes photos of the girls during the glam process!
Jane created a gorgeous waved look on her models that perfectly represented the old school looks that inspired the entire photoshoot for the day, while Janelle and I opted for creating updo’s on our models. The gorgeous dresses were just the icing on the cake for the already stunning looks. But the best part had to have been the setting of the photoshoot.
After the models had finished getting their hair and makeup done, they changed into their dresses and made their way next door to The Renaissance Ballroom. The vintage feel of the space transported us all to an old hollywood party. I could almost hear the jazz singers and see people swing dancing around the ballroom, it was like the girls had stepped out of that time period and entered the twenty first century.
The glammies and I had such a blast being able to have complete artistic freedom with the hairstyles that we created for the models. The hair paired with the lovely makeup produced by Kara made for an amazing day and I can’t wait to share more of the photos from the actual shoot with you all as the week goes on!
