Hey y’all! Happy Friday!!
Bridal portrait sessions are a Southern tradition where the bride takes portraits (typically 1-2 months before the wedding) in her full wedding day attire – hair, makeup, jewelry, veil, bouquet, and of course, the dress. After the portrait session, she selects her favorite along with the help of her photographer and mom generally to have a large portrait made up to display at her wedding reception. This is often times positioned at the front of the entrance when you walk into the reception, or near the cake.
We just LOVE to do a bridal portrait session to be able to give the confidence a bride needs to rock that gown and hair & makeup on the big day. Sometimes, it takes some getting used to when you’re all done up in a fancy dress, with flowers, and a veil. This is a great opportunity to get comfortable with it all, and to get comfortable with the camera! It’s going to be pointed your way quite a bit on the wedding day, why not get a jump start with your posing.
We’ve been gathering photos to add to our galleries on our website and got a batch of beauties from Hayes and Fisk Photography that we just had to give some special attention to!
If you haven’t been to Dover Hall yet, you’re missing out! They have the most jaw dropping backgrounds for bridal portraits for the brides who have their wedding there. Talk about feeling like a princess in a castle, ladies this is the place! We loved being a part of Maddy’s special day for her bridal portraits out there.
The gardens at the Hayes and Fisk studio was the location of choice for Lou’s bride Melissa, who got married at Celebrations at the Reservoir. The gorgeous waterfront property provided an excellent backdrop for her ceremony and reception and even more stunning photos!
If outdoor portraits aren’t quite your thing, don’t worry, studio portraits are an option too! Make sure you find someone who specialized in studio portraits like Hayes and Fisk so that they know how to work all the right angles with the right lighting! Check out Smy’s images…we just love them!
Or maybe you’re more of a “pictures on the day of” kind of gal… well Amanda rocked her wedding day look at The Jefferson and we have major CURL envy! Just in case your wondering, those curls by Amanda, our resident curl master, lasted all through the night! We were so overjoyed to see images from the end of the night and the proof that the hairstyle made it through the party!!
So there you have it…these are the images you can only achieve through special time for your bridal portrait. If we havent convinced you yet, I don’t know what will! Go ahead and give us a call to schedule your bridal portrait session today!
