Lou’s Day Tuesday: Lou’s Favorites of Fall

September 13, 2016

Although the weather does not seem like it in Richmond, it is September. Back to school season is here but more importantly, the seasons and leaves are changing. As Fall comes around the corner, Lou definitely has some favorites and some advice for this new sweater weather that is setting in.

Favorite Fall lip color?

According to Lou, a color that she has been using often at weddings is Lumineer by Colourpop. Colourpop is a lip stain which increases wear time and does not smudge as easily. That is a great plus because no one really loves the taste or look of lipstick on their teeth.

Favorite Fall nail polish?

Like many others, Lou loves using OPI Nail Polish. And for good reason. They tend to have a larger brush which makes the use of it a lot easier and cuts down the time of having to put on multiple coats. Lou’s particular favorite for the Fall is Linkin Park After Dark.  It is a beautiful dark purple that has a nice sheen to it.

Favorite Starbucks Fall drink?

Fall season, most people are raving about the PSL, Pumpkin Spice Latte; but for Lou, she likes to keep it simple, natural, and healthy. She is a regular coffee drinker but in the Fall, she likes to spice it up, literally, with maybe a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon.

Favorite Fall scent?

Whether it be candles or a fragrance, Lou is loving anything that is fig scented for the Fall.

  1. Most Memorable Fall wedding venue?

Now, this would not be a Lou Steven’s Glam Squad blog without a mention of weddings. Lou has cited that one of the most memorable Fall wedding venues and one of the most beautiful is The Mill at Fine Creek.

It is really beautiful during the fall because it is along a creek and has tons of trees. The greenery is a gorgeous backdrop and it is even more beautiful during the fall as the leaves start to change colors.

An added plus is that it is unique. There are ruins right outside in which a lot of couples exchange vows at. It gives the opportunities for beautiful pictures and video with the trees and leaves in the backdrop.

Amanda Perry, the CEO of Lou Steven’s Glam Squad actually got married there a few years ago.

  1. Favorite thing about Fall?

When asked this question, Lou had a quick response. She loves driving through the mountains to go to weddings in her convertible.  Lou tends to go to a lot of weddings in Charlottesville and Western Virginia, which are all beautiful areas with mountains and great scenery on the way there.

  1. Favorite accessory for the Fall?

One word. Okay, maybe about 30… pairs (of boots). This was another quick answer. Lou loves wearing boots during the Fall and because of that love, she says that she has about 30 pairs of boots.  A little too much she also claims but hey, as always… if the shoe fits.

  1. Makeup advice for the Fall?

Last but certainly not least, Lou’s top advice for make up during the fall is to not be afraid to experiment with contouring more. During the summer, you do not want to pack on the make up because you want to keep everything light, but when Fall comes around, it is a better time to pull out the highlighter and bronzer.

Also, during the Summer, the sun is already so bright that highlighting might be a bit much.  On the other hand, during the Fall, a little bit more experimentation with contouring is a great idea.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
