Matrimonial Monday: Caitlin

June 19, 2017

Today’s Matrimonial Monday is all about our bride Caitlin!  Amanda and Sandy traveled out to the Doubletree in Charlottesville to get Cait and some of her bridesmaids ready for the wedding at The Market at Grelen.  It was memorial day weekend which is historically one of our busiest weekends of the year.  This year, it wasn’t any different and with 10 weddings on tap for our Glammies, all hands were on deck.  A lot of the bridal parties had 10 maids or more, which is our specialty!  I asked Amanda to help out with some of the details of the big day, so here goes!

I got a chance to work with Cait for her bridal preview a few weeks before the wedding and we tried out so many styles.  Cait has GORGEOUS healthy long hair, but she wanted to experiment with extensions because she was set on wearing her hair all down for her wedding and she knew they would give her a little bit more lasting power, fullness, and length.  Cait and her friend Bri had selected the PERFECT extensions prior to coming in to her appointment and we went to town curling them.  We also sell extensions in our shop so if you aren’t as prepared as Cait, don’t worry we have lots of colors and lengths you can get right on the spot!

We tried an all down style, and then some more unstructured bohemian styles.  Cait was pretty sure she wanted the all down, but she also had this gorgeous side braid style that I just couldn’t let her leave without at least trying.  We played around with a looped half up do as well.  When the appointment ended, Cait left the Glam Squad Studio with three choices and didn’t know what she was going to choose!

Cait is simply stunning without makeup and so we went with a natural and fresh glow for her.  On the wedding day, her tan was so perfect that I just used the lightest layer of airbrush makeup to even everything out and make it picture perfect.  Her lash extensions were to die for!!!  Cait chose to stick with more neutral tones and I used my Urban Decay Naked 2 Pallette  along with some of my favorite ColourPop shades for shimmer and highlight.  Lumiere 2 lippiestix from Colour Pop was the lipstick of choice for Cait’s big day.  It’s a great neutral shade but has amazing lasting power.  A little spritz of MAC setting spray and Cait was ready to head down the aisle.

These photographs from Cait’s photographer Alicia Lacey  basically have us all swooning over how amazing they are!  Cait and the girls look like super models and they were the nicest group of girls we could have ever come in contact with!  For such a large wedding party, everyone got along so great and we just all had the easiest time getting everyone ready.  Cait was the most calm bride and so gracious to Sandy and I.

Thank you so much to Cait for letting us be a part of your special day, and to Alicia Lacey for sharing the amazing images!  Best of luck to you Cait and Luke!!!
