What’s in My Makeup Bag

June 7, 2017

I’ve been so excited to share this next post with you all, and I hope you guys have been excited too! Today’s makeup bag belongs to the first ever glammie (well first glammie after me that is), and that is none other than my right hand and partner in crime, Amanda.  I’m going to hand it over to her to take you on a little tour of her bag.

————————

Hey y’all!

It’s Amanda chiming in today for our series “Whats in my bag?” and I am so pumped to tell you a little bit about my routine! I’ll be honest, the days that I don’t have appointments, this makeup bag hardly gets any love. I am a mother of a very energetic and time consuming 19 month old, Benjamin, and mom-life just doesn’t always lend itself to having time to put on a full face. BUT, when I do get a few minutes to dip into my stash of makeup, you better believe I’m making the most of it!

When Lou asked to take a peek in my makeup bag I chuckled a little. You see, I don’t actually have a makeup bag. I have one of those plastic three drawer rolling carts filled to the brim with makeup. It’s all organized by concealers, foundations, blushes, powders, eye liners / mascaras, lipsticks and everything in between. As a makeup artist, I love all things makeup and so its important for me to be able to see what I have. Thanks to my super patient husband for letting this little drawer cart take up way more room than it should in our house!

I’ll start with the basics. To me, having a fresh, easy face means having a great base! For that, I am currently using Urban Decay eyeshadow primer in Eden (this is their yellow based color correcting primer). Undereye circles get a little love from the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, and then I’m using the Tarte amazonian clay foundation to get that perfect canvas I want. Thanks to my good friend Kara’s recommendation, the Becca B blurring powder is a must have also! I really love the sun kissed look that it gives me.

Next, its all about the eyes. My Naked 2 palette is my current favorite. I go back and forth depending on my look, but for a quick 10 minute face this one never fails me. You can clearly see my favorite colors because I’ve “hit pan” on them! I can not go a day without filling in my eyebrows and evening them out and the IT Cosmetics brow pencil is my jam. I’m also a huge mascara girl, and I really use about 3 different ones (I start with the Tarte Maneater pictured above, then I use the IT Cosmetics Superhero Stretch, and I finish with the Urban Decay Perversion mascara). It’s a process y’all. Trust the process.

My newest obsession though for my eyes that has changed my life is the Rodan and Fields Lash Boost. Now, I am not selling it, so you can trust my review. This stuff has seriously made my lashes grow fuller, longer, and curlier in the last several weeks that I’ve been using it. I had major lash envy over my friend Natalie’s lashes, and so I tried this stuff to get some fantastic lashes on my own and I am here to say that IT WORKS! So good! I finally have lashes I am proud of, and that you can actually see! Game changer for me. Let Natalie hook you up ladies, you wont be sorry. My first tube has lasted me over 3 months and is still going strong!

To top off my look, I am a huge fan of my Luxie blush brush and Laura Gellar blush (pink grapefruit is my favorite one right now). I got a little sample in an Ipsy bag and I cant get enough of it! When its gone, I’m totally getting the full size of this one. Its got the best dimension ever and you don’t even have to work hard to get it. Japonesque Velvet Touch liners are like the home run hitters of eye liners. They are the smoothest pencil liners I have ever tried! I am currently obsessed with the brown liner to be a little softer for an every day look and the white I am putting under my brow to define it! RUN, don’t walk to Ulta and see our friend Ryan Jones with Japonesque to get these for yourself. Oh, and pick up some of the Japonesque brush cleaner while you are there so you can keep your brushes in tip top shape!

Lips are my thing y’all. I have pretty big lips so I’m never afraid to put some color on them. The NYX Liquid Suede liquid lip color is almost like a matte stain. Their red is so pretty and really compliments my skin tone when I want to go a little bolder. For an every day lip, I’m usually choosing this Colour Pop Ultra Matte lip stain in Lumiere 2. Its a great color on me and I use it on a ton of my brides and bridesmaids too! Now, there is not a camera lens big enough to get all the lip colors that I currently have captured, but you got some of the best ones!

I hope you can get to try some of these wonderful products that I’ve fallen in love with too!

xo Amanda
