It’s Monday, so that means a spotlight on our dear friend Monte Durham from TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.  If you haven’t seen the show, “Friday is Bride Day!” and the new season is airing on Fridays at 9pm on TLC.  Monte has also been working with teenagers for 3 years now with the Say Yes to the Prom Dress initiative.  This initiative began 3 years ago with 1,200 prom gowns, which were donated solely by Discovery Channel employees internationally.  Now, it has moved to a outreach program, where the public can donate gently used prom dresses.  Since prom season just ended, please hold on to those gowns, so you can potentially participate as well!!

Monte shares that the most fulfilling thing about participating in the Say Yes to the Prom Dress project, is watching the insecure, quiet, shy girls come in and blossom in confidence over a couple of hours of being GLAMMED up!.  He says, the difference between a prom dress and wedding dress is simple.  With a prom dress, you are celebrating the graduation of high school.  A wedding dress is celebrating graduating into a new family!!  When choosing both, make sure you “mind your budget” and be “open-minded” when trying different dresses.  Often times, ladies have an idea of what she wants, but be open-minded about trying on different styles of dresses.
