Tell us a little about your company!

Lou Stevens Glam Squad has been around for over 25 years! We are a mobile salon that comes on location to offer wedding day hair and makeup for brides and their bridal parties! We have over 16 stylists who have a passion for hair and makeup. We strive to bring the best service and wedding day environment for our brides. We build relationships that continue even after the wedding day!

How did you get started in this business?

My mother was a stylist so it was something I always grew up around. I have a passion for this industry and love, love, love glamming people up! When I came to Richmond, I saw a need and decided to fill it. There wasn’t a single business around who was offering on-location bridal services 25 years ago. The business has grown above and beyond what I ever anticipated!

What differentiates you from other businesses in your field?

We come on location. We cut out the stress of having to go run around to a salon on your wedding day. We come to the venue and take care of hair AND makeup for everyone so no one has to leave the bride’s side. We love brides, and we love being a part of their big day. We keep things light and fun!

Why do you like working with weddings?

We get to be a part of someone’s story. When a bride looks back on her photos 20 years from now, she will see and remember how beautiful she was that day and how beautiful we helped make her feel. I love helping women see their beauty, inside and out. It being such a special day is just an added bonus!

From a vendor’s perspective, what is the one best piece of advice you can offer to engaged couples?

Don’t stress! Take your time and don’t worry about the little things. This is supposed to be the best day of your life! Don’t allow anything to take away from the joy of this moment.

 

What or who motivates you?

The smile on a woman’s face and the tears in her eyes when she first looks in the mirror after I’ve glammed her up. THAT motivates me. That shows me that I’m making a difference, that I’m helping these women to see how beautiful they are!

 

What do you like to do when you are away from work?

Away from work? I don’t even know what that means! This business is my life. I eat, breathe, sleep the Glam Squad!
