Beach Wave Tutorial

July 10, 2014

I don’t know about you, but my absolute favorite summer hair style is the BEACH WAVE look! It’s the embodiment of summer and every girl should be rockin’ it at some point. This is a style you can wear.. well, ON the beach, out to dinner, at the mall with your girls.. You really can’t go wrong at all with this style. Do you ever look at magazines or TV shows with pure envy at their flawless beach hair? Well, envy no more! Here is a super easy tutorial for you to follow to achieve “BEACH HAIR“! We want you gals feeling beautiful and confident and we are here to help!

First things first.. you need to find you a great “Sea Salt Spray”… Most tutorials don’t mention using a product like this, but if you want that real beachy texture, this is a must! This right here is my absolute favorite.. “Not Your Momma’s Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray”.. (that was a mouthful, eh?) After you wash your hair, spray this throughout while still wet and scrunch. It’s best to let your hair dry naturally with the sea spray, but if you’re pressed for time, you can blow dry (upside down for added volume!).

After your hair is dry, you will start curling. Feel free to section your hair with a clip and start from the bottom up if that’s easiest. Using a wand or curling iron (with a curling iron it’s the same concept as a wand, just wrap the section of hair around the iron instead of clamping it inside).

Now, as you’re curling, you’ll switch the direction of the curl with each piece. One curl wound clockwise, the next counter clockwise, the next clockwise and so forth. This gives a less structured look as well as keeping your individual curls/waves from forming into one curl/wave.

Keep curling!

Once you’ve curled the entire head, make your hand into a claw (weird, haha) and you’re going to run your hand through your curls from the underside!

After you do so, use your fingers to pry apart any waves you missed, giving it more of a piecey look.

Once you’ve got it how you want it, use a light hair spray (or none if you have naturally textured hair!). You know how well your hair holds curl/wave so you be the judge of how much spray to use.

VOILA!

See! You too can have gorgeous beach hair with only a few steps. We see all these awesome looks and videos but sometimes they make it more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this tutorial helps and soon we will be posting videos to our YouTube page!
