I have such a sweet tooth and I think it is always important to let yourself indulge in sweets from time to time.  Being in the wedding industry, I come in contact with a large number of colleagues who are masters in everything sweet, which is why the name of Melissa’s custom bake shop is so fitting is because it is just “simply sweet“! 

With all of the exciting things going on with the Glam Squad, we wanted to do something fun and a little different just to mark this momentous time for the Glam Fam.  When we met Melissa, of course one of the things that we thought of were cookies! Baking videos and the cookie time lapse of the design work have become extremely popular all over social media, and how could they not? They are so much fun to watch! So we reached out to Melissa to see what she could come up with as a design for our very own custom Glam Squad cookies! 

Melissa found her passion for baking at a very young age and it is one that has just kind of stuck with her.  She ventured into the hotel industry at the Hotel and Culinary School of Santa Barbara, California. It was during her time there that into what Melissa describes as the “unexpected art of baking,” and she hasn’t looked back since! 

Melissa never expected to have a career in culinary arts but the love that she had for baking and creating beautiful cakes and cookies just continued to grow and grow.  She knew that baking was her true calling after she created a custom Blue’s Clues cake for her son’s birthday and after that all of her friends began asking her to create custom cakes for all of their parties and events. 

From there, Melissa began taking multiple classes to improve her craft.  Even with Melissa’s natural talent, she spent hours on end making sure all of her skills were perfected and she continues to learn each and every day. Melissa has created beautiful cakes ranging from guitar shaped cakes to California themed cake! I think the designs that she came up with for the Glam Squad cookies are one of a kind and absolutely “simply sweet”!
