Hey y’all!  Amanda here, I am SO excited to have been asked to guest blog today for our super sweet New Years Eve bride, Liz!
Liz had the privilege of meeting our wonderful stylist Ashley and working with her for her engagement pictures earlier this year.  Daniel Marks with Third Eye Photography did an amazing job capturing the elegance and fun that I have come to know as being a key traits of Liz throughout her wedding planning.  Liz enlisted the help of Angela with XOXO Weddings and Events to pull off her perfect day seamlessly.
When I met Liz for her preview, within about 30 minutes I knew it was a match made in heaven!  I have meet hundreds of brides throughout the years, and each and every one of them is special to me, but with Liz, her and I just clicked!  I loved hearing the story of how she met her fiancé Dave, hearing about her relationship with her father-in-law-to-be Bob, and all about her job and what led them to this big day!  My favorite part of any preview appointment is always getting to hear the brides story and with Liz this was just the starting point.

Liz’s instructions for her wedding day look were GLAM GLAM GLAM!  You know she came to the right place!  I loved the look she chose and Liz couldn’t wait to leave the preview and go show it off that night.  Her charcoal smoky eye and long loose curls were going to be perfect for her wedding day on New Years Eve at the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. I was so excited!  She left, and I knew that an instant friend had been made.  Brides like Liz are the reason I do what I do, and the reason why after 10 years it is still just as special.
By the time Ashley and I arrived at the Marriott downtown to start Liz’s wedding day glam, she had changed her mind on her whole look!  She decided to go with a less dramatic eye, and stick with softer gold tones and a striking liner wing instead!  And that’s not all, she said “forget about wearing my hair down, I want to be able to dance all night and not worry about it, let’s do an updo!”  So without hesitation, I got to work on her new wedding day look!  Ashley rocked out some of the most amazing bridesmaid styles to complement the bride and we just had such fun with them getting ready that day.

For her wedding day look, I used the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette for some gold shimmer on the inside lid as well as some Colour Pop shadows f for the darker tones.  Inglot liner made that perfectly crisp line and her Kylie Lip Kit “Koko K” was the perfect touch to finish off her look.  Liz wanted to have a lip color that would stay on and not transfer to her almost husband during the kiss, and the liquid lipstick was a perfect choice.
I loved everything about what Liz chose at her preview, but I also loved the wedding day even more.  Sometimes after brides have their trial run, its normal to go back and decide over time that there are some changes to be made and sometimes they are even drastic just like Liz and its a complete 180.  But the preview appointment allows you the flexibility to try out what you think you like and some time to let it all sink in just in case you do want to make changes on the big day.
