Tutorial Thursday: Perfectly Plum

August 14, 2014

I recently purchased the Amrezy palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. Firstly, if you don’t follow @Amrezy on instagram, get on it! Secondly, this palette is AMAZING. The quality of this palette far surpassed my expectations and I fell so in love that I immediately made a tutorial! I called this Perfectly Plum (corny, I know, corny AND clever, eh?) because it has a couple purple/plum shades that totally make green and blue eyes POP. Don’t worry my brown eyed girls, I’l be comin’ for ya!

How amazing are these pigments?

First, before I start anything I moisturize and prime my face. I only use airbrush makeup or BB cream, today I chose airbrush. Working in the bridal business has shown me how great and long lasting airbrush is and it’s always my go-to. Next, I add concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes!

Next, I airbrush my #30 foundation on and set it with NYX photo finish powder. After that, I like to do a little contouring. I prefer powder, especially on top of the airbrush makeup. First, I like to add a lighter shade above my cheekbones, my forehead, chin and top of my nose. I use a fat contouring brush!

Next, I add a darker powder under my cheek bones, the sides of my nose line and around the outer edges of my forehead. I make a silly kissy face when applying the darker powder!

Voila! A nicely shaped face and then I added a mauve toned blush along my cheekbone!

Next, I prime my lids with Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. After doing so, I fill in my brows with black shadow (I have really dark brows that are already nicely shaped. I don’t have to line or shape them!). Next, I cover my brow bone with Vanilla. Next I cover my entire lower lid with Glisten.

Next I dab Deep Plum into the outer rim and up into my crease. Then I switch to a blending brush and blend in! Once I blend, I add a thin line of black liner, getting thicker towards the outer lid, ending in a slight cat eye.

Then on inner corner I add Legend. I apply gel liner along the inner rim of my lower lashline. I line my lower lid with Iridescent Purple and voila! I put on a little mascara and add my favorite lipstick (I did a purple and a pink!).
